No, our baby isn't here but it does involve another one of our family members...our Honda, Rhonda. Rhonda has been Tim's car since he got home from his mission and has been a great car for us. We knew her time was coming to an end though, and that turned out to be yesterday. She has needed new brakes for a while but Tim didn't want to put any money into her since so many other things were wrong too. So yesterday he informs me that one of the brakes (or brake pads or something about the brakes) just completely eroded away and fell out...and then all the brake fluid leaked out and won't stay in anymore so essentially she has no brakes. Not the safest way to drive so she is being retired. She has been with our family as long as we have been a family so it is a sad to see her go (or maybe my preggo hormones are finally pushing me over the edge of crazy). So I just wanted to make note of all the big events she has been a part of in our lives:
-She drove Tim and I on our first date (and all our dates)
-She drove us to the restaurant in Texas where we got engaged and Tim hid my ring in her trunk through most of the meal
-She drove us from BYU to TX and back our first summer together married
-She took us to BYU everyday and to our graduation
-She brought our first baby (Jace) home from the hospital
-Took us from UT to AZ being towed behind a moving van, then a couple days later to TX for Christmas, then a week later to FL to live for 6 months before Tim's job started in AZ. From AZ to FL she was PACKED with all of our stuff. (Jace's crib was hanging out of the back of the trunk in a cardboard box)
-6 months later she made the trip back to AZ from FL when we moved there
-She survived 2 AZ summers without losing her AC which Tim was very grateful for : )
-Moved with us again a year later
-Made a miraculous recovery from a broken transmission to run for another almost two years! (seriously, the transmission, we were told, was completely gone then a couple of days later it started to work again...it was amazing. It has been going downhill though and she is now down to only two working gears, 2nd and 3rd)
-A couple of weeks ago she surpassed 200,000 miles!
So she has been a great little car for us and has lasted longer than we ever thought she would. This weekend though Tim and I have a date to go and find him a new car which is always fun. : ) I will post pictures of our new purchase as soon as we make it!

SO wierd how we get attached to cars. I had the same attachment with my ugly old toyota (rememebr my old brown car?). I guess you are right--maybe it's the memories assosiated with the car. When we finally layed my junky down to rest, I didn't know whether to jump for joy, or cry!!!
ha ha...that is hilarious! Poor Rhonda. Sally says she is sad at her passing. Let me know what you get though! Are you guys coming for conference Sunday by the way?
yeah, I think we are coming down for the afternoon on Sunday...and let me know about the last weekend in April as soon as you find out
Kristen, I'm amazed that you guys have had a car for so long. Spence is driving a 91 Honda Accord as well and loved that Tim had one too. He'll be so sad for all involved. We're hoping our Honda will last us a little longer...they are (were) such great cars.
